- Open beerreal on your phone.
- Tap your avatar (bottom-right) → Settings.
- Scroll to the Danger zone.
- Tap Delete account.
- Type
DELETE, then confirm with a fresh SMS code or Apple Sign-In.
Your account is paused immediately — you disappear from friends' feeds, the map, and leaderboards within seconds. You then have 30 days to change your mind: just sign back in and tap "Cancel" on the banner at the top. After 30 days the full erasure runs and the account is gone for good.

Lost your phone, can't sign in, or already uninstalled the app? Open the form below from any device:

Pick the Privacy / GDPR / data request topic and include: your @handle, the phone number on the account, and a sentence confirming you want everything erased.
We'll verify it's really you (one short reply with a code), then schedule the deletion within 72 hours — same 30-day grace window applies, and we'll email you a confirmation when the final erasure runs. We do not require a phone call, a support chat, or any other detour — Apple App Store guideline 5.1.1(v) explicitly forbids that.
03What gets deleted, and when
During the 30-day grace window your data is kept but invisible to everyone (including you, except for the cancel banner). On day 30 the cascade below runs.

04What we are required to keep
A small set of records survives deletion because we are legally obliged to keep them:
- Tax & accounting records — 7 years (Dutch tax-retention obligation, Algemene wet inzake rijksbelastingen Art. 52).
- Trust & safety records for accounts banned for serious abuse (illegal content, harassment, fraud) — minimum hash of identifiers, kept indefinitely so a banned user cannot simply re-register. No content, no profile data.
- Aggregate, anonymous metrics (e.g. daily active users) — these are no longer personal data.
05What you should do first
- Download your data, if you want a copy. In-app: Settings → Privacy → Download my data. We email you a JSON archive within 24 hours.
- Cancel subscriptions. We don't have any paid features yet, but if you ever subscribe via the App Store, deleting the beerreal account does not cancel the App Store subscription. Manage that in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions.
- Tell your crews. Group leaderboards will recompute without you, and your historic posts disappear from the night recaps you appear in.
06Changed your mind?
Sign back in any time within the 30-day grace window and tap "Cancel" on the banner at the top of the app. Your account comes back exactly as you left it — friends, posts, streaks, badges, everything. After day 30 the data is gone and we cannot bring it back — that's the point. If you want to use beerreal again later, you'll start from scratch with a new account.
